Features and Applications
Silicon-aluminium alloy for welding and brazing.
This alloy is characterised by a low melting point and narrow freezing range.
Excellent wetting action and corrosion resistance.
Hot cracking is significantly reduced in most applications.
ER 4047 can actually been used as a substitute for ER 4043, this is due to the increased silicon in the weld metal that produces higher fillet weld shear strength.
Produces bright and almost smut-free welds. It is also characterised by low shrinkage rate.
Ideal for applications such as joint sealing of pressurised fluids and gases.
Recommended for elevated temperature applications.
Typically used on applications such as radiators, air conditioning components, general repair and maintenance, water and gas tight applications etc.
